WHAT IS SPLICE KITCHEN?
Splice Kitchen is a service company that offers starting and small foodservice businesses the use of a licensed commercial kitchen without the commitment, start-up capital, and overhead expenses associated with building-out and maintaining a retail kitchen.

HOW DO I RENT?
Splice Kitchen is rented by the hour, but memberships are also available.
Requirements for businesses:
Chicago (illinois only won't work) ServSafe Sanitation Certificate
Signed renter's agreement
Liability Insurance with Splice Kitchen listed as an additional insured and proof of workers' compensation coverage if business has employees.
Requirements for Individuals:
Signed agreement
DO I NEED A BUSINESS LICENSE?
Currently if you are an individual testing recipes, cooking for your own party, etc. you would not need a license.
If you are a business who is also a vendor at farmer’s markets you do not need to apply for a license.
If you are a business and would like to make Splice Kitchen your home, you will need a business license and we can point you in the right direction to apply for it.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE TIME?
If you are a member of the kitchen, you can schedule time via our online calendar, by phone, or by email (wait for email confirmation)
If you are a one-time renter, you can schedule time via phone or email
